Digital Impressions

If you have ever had to visit the dental office for a nightguard, crown, or denture, then you’ve likely experienced biting down on a piece of gag-inducing putty. Not only is this uncomfortable, but it’s not as precise of a process as it could be, causing some patients to have to do it twice! Our digital impression system uses a small camera located at the tip of a wand to capture a 3D, photorealistic impression of your teeth and gums, which our team can then immediately send off to our dental laboratory. This allows for a more streamlined and comfortable experience for our patients.

CT/Cone Beam Scanner

The cone beam CT scanner is an amazing and advanced device that allows Dr. Michaels to capture a 3D, detailed diagnostic view of your entire facial anatomy. This includes your jawbone density as well as the location of your sinuses and facial nerves. Our team can then use this information to precisely plan every detail of your treatment, and it’s especially helpful for more complex care like dental implant placement and tooth extractions.

Intraoral Camera

Our intraoral camera is a small, handheld device that we can use to explore hard-to-see crevices of your mouth more closely. This allows us to easily spot more concealed problems, like decay located between the teeth. This device also allows us to capture clear pictures and real-time imaging on a monitor located next to the treatment chair, so we can show you exactly what we’re looking at and how we plan to treat it.

Digital X-Rays

Inconvenient film X-rays are a thing of the past at Norwood Dental Care. We utilize fast, safe, and effective digital X-ray imaging to capture clear images that allow us to easily spot any problem hidden beneath the surface of your gums. They also reduce the exposure to radiation by up to 90 percent! Plus, if you ever need to visit a specialist due to an oral health problem, we can easily send them digital copies of your X-rays in no time.
